Convert Book to eBook Project—Part 4

Okay, this time I tried to convert the book to ePub format straight from pdf. I was feeling encouraged as I was doing this, as there were a ton of choices offered by Calibre for the conversion. But the resulting document is an ugly mess, and it would take way more effort to make this a presentable document than it would the prior one.

None of the links work. Even though I selected to remove the headers and footers as an option, they are included and seem to be randomly scattered throughout the ePub document.

None of the images came through, which was a result that surprised me in my first attempt.

The tables didn't translate at all either, the numbers just run in one long row. I have no idea how I would figure out a way to fix that.

This version did create a pretty nice cover, however. Another nice thing—it was much easier to enter the metadata and tags this way, the program even prompted me to do so. Those are about the best things I can say about it.

This version is pretty useless. I wouldn't even try to edit this one.
